One Day in London Itinerary

Is it worth spending just one day in London?

If that is the time you have available, my answer is: absolutely! With a well-organized itinerary, you can see the main landmarks, try great food, and feel a bit of the London atmosphere.

If I had only one day in London, this is the itinerary I would follow:

  1. 1

Start the day at Tower Bridge

One of London's most famous landmarks and one of the best places to start the day. Besides beautiful photos, the area is usually quieter in the morning.

  2. 2

    Explore Borough Market

A few minutes away is Borough Market, one of the city's most famous food markets. It is the perfect place to try foods from different parts of the world — including the famous chocolate-covered strawberries that went viral on social media. My tip: if you prefer to sit and eat calmly, I recommend Where The Pancakes Are.

  3. 3

    Walk along the Thames

Leaving Borough Market, walk along the Thames riverbank until you reach the London Eye.

  4. 4

    London Eye and Big Ben

Two of London's most iconic places, located very close to each other. Even if you do not ride the Ferris wheel, it is worth passing through the area and enjoying the view. Then walk to Big Ben.

Take a break at St. James's Park

After an intense morning, this is a great place to slow down. The park is beautifully maintained, full of green areas, and one of my favorite places to catch my breath before continuing the itinerary.

  6. 6

    Buckingham Palace

No first trip to London is complete without passing by Buckingham Palace. Interior visits happen only during part of the summer, but even seen from the outside, the palace is impressive.

  7. 7

End the day at Hyde Park

Close the day at Hyde Park, one of London's most beautiful parks. It is the perfect place to walk, sit on the grass, and simply enjoy the end of the afternoon.

My final tip for enjoying London

If you have more time, my recommendation is to spend three days in London. The city deserves to be lived without rushing, exploring its neighborhoods, markets, and parks calmly.
